Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal information Melbourne Silent Disco collects, why we collect it, and who we share it with. It applies to this website and to hire bookings made through it.

What we collect

When you make a booking or contact us, we collect:

  • Your name, email address and phone number
  • Your event date, venue and delivery address (where courier delivery is chosen)
  • Any notes or messages you send us
  • Payment confirmation details from Stripe. We never see or store your full card number. Card details are entered on Stripe's own secure checkout, not on our website.

Who else we share information with

We share only what each service needs to do its job:

  • Stripe — to take payment and issue refunds.
  • Resend — to email your booking confirmation and tax invoice.
  • GoPeople — where you choose courier delivery, your delivery address and contact details are passed to the courier.
  • Notion — our internal system for preparing your gear.

How long we keep it

We keep booking records for five years. That is how long Australian tax and record-keeping obligations require us to hold them. After that we delete or de-identify them.

Accessing or correcting your information

You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it where we are not required to keep it. Email us and we will respond.

Opting out of tracking

You can turn off or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time. You can opt out of Google Analytics using Google's browser add-on, and you can control how Meta uses your activity for advertising in your Facebook or Instagram ad settings. Turning these off will not stop you from making a booking.

Complaints

If you think we have mishandled your personal information, contact us first and we will try to resolve it. If you are not satisfied with how we handle your complaint, you can escalate it to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
